It was quite the experience and I really enjoyed the campaign, the diplomacy, the relationship management, winning your enemies via diplomacy instead of war. There's just one complaint - I don't seem to enjoy the battles very much. In fact, I only played one battle in the empire campaign and auto resolved the rest (I've tried many custom battles though). When you think of an FPS, you expect the game to revolve around one or more of the many shooting mechanics. Dodging, strafing, using cover, accuracy, trigger discipline, picking the right weapon for the right distance, flanking etc etc. So imagine your surprise if an FPS is focused on, for instance, switching to the right scope and having a lengthy reloading system that requires multiple button pushes. Then imagine that the actual shooty parts, while still important. Used to play Warhammer Dark Omen and Shadow of the horned Rat on the original PlayStation back in the day. I loved the war system it used. Almost real time tactics that you could pause and give orders to. Then unpause and watch your orders carried out. The story was really nice too.
